Customer records
A customer record holds their contact details and links to every repair, sale, invoice, refund and exchange they have been part of. Records can be a person or a company, and companies carry a billing address, tax number and a named contact person.
What it does
The useful question at the counter is not who this person is. It is what happened last time.
A record gathers that. Repairs, sales, invoices, refunds and exchanges all hang off the same customer, so the history is one page rather than five searches.
Companies are a different shape from individuals, so Fixmo treats them differently. A company record carries a billing address, a tax number and the name of the person you actually deal with.
Duplicates are caught as you type. Entering a phone number that already exists tells you before you create a second record for the same person.
A flag records whether the number is on WhatsApp, which decides whether automatic updates can reach them there.

Questions
What happens if two staff create the same customer?
Fixmo checks the phone number and email as they are typed and warns before a second record is created.
Can I record a business rather than a person?
Yes. Set the type to company and the record gains a billing address, a tax number and a contact person.
If I correct a customer's address, do old invoices change?
No. Documents copy the customer's details when they are raised, so past paperwork keeps what it was issued with.
