Running the business

Roles and your team

Fixmo has four roles: admin, manager, technician and cashier. Each starts with sensible access to the modules it needs. Team members are invited by email with a link that expires, and joining assigns them to a branch.

Free is a single user. Pro adds 1 manager, 5 technicians and 1 cashier. Business allows 10 managers and unlimited technicians and cashiers.

The team screen listing staff with their role and branch, from owner through manager, technician and cashier.
Four roles that match how a repair shop actually divides work, not a generic permission grid.

What it does

A repair shop is not a flat organisation. The person on the bench, the person at the till and the person who owns it need genuinely different views.

The four roles reflect that. An admin sees everything. A manager runs a branch. A technician works the jobs assigned to them without seeing money. A cashier sells and takes payment without touching settings.

Invitations go by email and carry an expiry, so a link forwarded months later does not still work.

Someone who leaves is deactivated rather than deleted, which keeps every repair, sale and payment they were part of.

Where the defaults are not right for your shop, they are adjustable per role and per person.

Questions

How many people can I add?

Free is one user. Pro allows 1 manager, 5 technicians and 1 cashier. Business allows 10 managers, and technicians and cashiers without limit.

Can a technician see what a job made?

Not by default. Payment and price information is withheld from technicians, including in the repair activity log.

What happens when someone leaves?

Deactivate them. Their repairs, sales and payments stay exactly as they were.
