Custom payment methods
Fixmo ships with cash, card, bank transfer and online, and lets a shop add its own methods on top. A custom method gets a name, an icon, a colour, a position in the list, and a default account for the money to land in.

What it does
Payment habits are local. A shop in Colombo takes methods a shop in Toronto has never heard of, and a fixed list of four is wrong almost everywhere.
The four built in methods stay, because reports and integrations rely on them. Anything else your shop takes is added as a custom method.
Each method can name the account its money lands in, so choosing the method at the till is enough.
Methods are ordered by you and can be deactivated, so a method you stop taking disappears from the till without erasing the payments already recorded against it.
Every capability
| Built in | Cash, card, bank transfer and online |
|---|---|
| Custom | Any number, named by you |
| Default account | One per method |
| Display | Icon, colour and sort order |
| Deactivate | Hides it from the till, keeps past payments intact |
| Used by | Sales, repairs, invoices and supplier payments |
Questions
Can I remove the built in methods?
They can be deactivated so they do not appear at the till. They are not deleted, because past payments refer to them.
Does a custom method work everywhere in Fixmo?
Yes, including supplier payments and refunds.
