Store credit
Store credit in Fixmo is a balance a customer holds at the shop, given on a warranty claim or added by an admin. It comes off a POS sale, a repair bill or an invoice, can run out after a set number of months, and is paid out as money only with approval.

What it does
A customer's faulty speaker cannot be replaced today, and they do not want their money back. They want to choose something else next week. Store credit is how the shop keeps that promise without a note in a drawer.
Credit is given in two ways. A warranty claim can settle with store credit, up to what the customer paid for the item. An admin can also add or remove credit by hand, and the reason stays in the customer's credit history.
Spending it lowers the bill, the same way loyalty points do. It is not a payment method, so your sales and repair revenue stay what was actually paid. At the till, credit that covers the whole bill completes the sale without a payment step. On a repair it can be used before the device is delivered. On an invoice made on its own it can cover part of what is left, never all of it.
Each credit can carry its own expiry. Choose a number of months from 1 to 120 in Settings, or let it never expire. The part that runs out soonest is spent first. A void, a cancelled repair or a refund gives the credit back, with the date it had.
Turning credit into money needs approval. A cashier can ask for a payout, and only an admin or manager can pay it, from one of the shop's accounts. It is recorded as an expense.
Fixmo does not tell customers their balance. A bill shows the store credit used on it, and staff can read what is left on the customer's profile or at the till.

Questions
Can I sell store credit or gift cards?
No. Store credit comes only from a warranty claim or an admin adjustment. Fixmo does not sell credit or gift cards.
Can a customer pay a whole invoice with store credit?
No. On an invoice made on its own, credit covers part of what is left, and a payment closes it. At the till and on a repair bill, credit can cover all of it.
Does the customer get a message about their balance?
No. A warranty claim's closing message says credit was added, but Fixmo never sends the balance. Staff can tell the customer at the counter.
What happens to credit when I change the expiry setting?
Nothing. Credit already given keeps the expiry it was given with. The new setting applies to credit given from then on.
