Email Configuration
Email Configuration Overview
Fixmo can send automated email notifications to your customers when repair statuses change, sales are completed, or refunds are processed. The Email settings page lets you connect your own email provider and control which events trigger notifications. Only Admins can access this page.
How to Connect Gmail
Gmail is the simplest way to send emails from your own address. You will need a Gmail app password, which is different from your regular Gmail password.
- 1Go to Settings > Email from the sidebar.
- 2Select Gmail as your email provider.
- 3Enter your Gmail address.
- 4Enter your 16-character app password (generated from your Google Account > Security > App passwords).
- 5Click 'Connect Email' to save and activate.
To generate a Gmail app password: go to myaccount.google.com > Security > 2-Step Verification > App passwords. Select 'Mail' and copy the 16-character code. Two-factor authentication must be enabled on your Google account.
How to Connect Custom SMTP
Custom SMTP lets you use any email provider (Outlook, Yahoo, or your business domain). This option is available on Pro and Business plans only.
- 1Go to Settings > Email from the sidebar.
- 2Select Custom SMTP as your provider.
- 3Enter your email address.
- 4Enter your SMTP password.
- 5Enter the SMTP Host (e.g., yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com).
- 6Enter the SMTP port (commonly 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL).
- 7Click 'Connect Email' to save and activate.
Custom SMTP is available on Pro and Business plans only. Free plan users can connect Gmail or use the default Fixmo email (noreply@fixmo.app).
Testing Your Email Connection
After connecting your email provider, test it to make sure emails are delivered correctly. Fixmo sends a test email to your connected address.
- 1After connecting your provider, the Email settings page shows your connected email and provider name.
- 2Click the 'Send Test' button.
- 3Check your inbox for the test email from Fixmo.
- 4If the test email arrives, your connection is working correctly.
Configuring Notification Triggers
Below the email connection section, toggle switches let you control which events send automated emails to customers. Notifications are grouped into three categories.
- Repair Status notifications (8 triggers): Received, Diagnosing, Waiting Parts, Repairing, Testing, Ready for Pickup, Delivered, Cancelled
- Sales notifications (2 triggers): Sale Completed, Sale Refunded
- Agent notifications (2 triggers): Commission Earned, Payout Processed
Some notification triggers are available only on Pro and Business plans. Free plan users can enable Received, Delivered, and Sale Completed triggers. Triggers marked as Pro-only include Diagnosing, Waiting Parts, Repairing, Testing, Ready for Pickup, Cancelled, Sale Refunded, Commission Earned, and Payout Processed.
Disconnecting Your Email Provider
You can disconnect your email provider at any time. After disconnecting, Fixmo reverts to sending emails from the default system address (noreply@fixmo.app).
- 1Go to Settings > Email.
- 2Click the 'Disconnect' button next to your connected provider.
- 3Confirm the disconnection.
- 4Fixmo will use noreply@fixmo.app for any future notifications.
