Team Plan Limits
Team Plan Limits Overview
Each Fixmo subscription plan comes with specific team member limits broken down by role. These limits determine how many Managers, Technicians, and Cashiers you can have active in your shop at any time. Understanding these limits helps you plan your team structure and choose the right plan for your business.
FREE Plan
The FREE plan is designed for solo operators running a repair shop on their own. It includes only the Admin account with no option to add team members.
- 1 Admin (the shop owner) — created during registration
- 0 Managers — not available on the FREE plan
- 0 Technicians — not available on the FREE plan
- 0 Cashiers — not available on the FREE plan
- No invite button is shown on the Team page
- A message reading 'Upgrade to add team members' is displayed instead
PRO Plan
The PRO plan is built for small repair shops with a focused team. It allows up to 7 team members total across all roles.
- 1 Admin — the shop owner
- 1 Manager — to oversee branch operations
- 5 Technicians — for repair work
- 1 Cashier — for sales and customer interactions
- Total: 7 active team members plus the admin
BUSINESS Plan
The BUSINESS plan is designed for larger repair shops and multi-branch operations. It provides generous manager limits and unlimited technicians and cashiers.
- 1 Admin — the shop owner
- Up to 10 Managers — for multi-branch management
- Unlimited Technicians — add as many repair staff as needed
- Unlimited Cashiers — add as many sales staff as needed
- No cap on total team size (beyond the 10-manager limit)
How Limits Are Enforced
Fixmo enforces team limits using a checkRoleLimit() function that runs every time you attempt to invite a member or directly create one. The function checks the number of active members in the requested role against your plan's cap for that role.
- The check runs before the invitation is sent or the member is created
- Only active members are counted — deactivated members do not count toward the limit
- If the limit for the selected role is reached, an error message is displayed: the specific role limit has been reached
- The invitation or creation is blocked until you either deactivate an existing member of that role or upgrade your plan
The limit check is role-specific. For example, on the PRO plan you might have room for more Technicians but have already filled your Manager slot. The error message indicates which specific role is at capacity.
Upgrading to Increase Team Limits
If you have reached your plan's team limits and need more capacity, upgrading your plan is the fastest solution. New limits take effect immediately after the plan change.
- 1Go to Settings > Billing from the sidebar.
- 2Review the plan comparison cards to see the team limits for PRO and BUSINESS.
- 3Click the upgrade button on your preferred plan.
- 4Complete payment through the secure checkout.
- 5Return to the Team page — your new limits are active immediately.
- 6Start inviting additional team members right away.
If you are on the PRO plan and frequently hitting the 5-technician limit, the BUSINESS plan with unlimited technicians may save you from repeated limit issues as your shop grows.
