What Is the AI Support Assistant?

Fixmo includes a built-in AI chat assistant powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash. Unlike generic chatbots, it is connected to your actual shop data: it can look up repair status and history, read the Fixmo Knowledge Base, and answer questions about your customers, inventory, and team — all in plain conversational language.

Starting a Conversation

The AI chat is available from every page inside the dashboard.

  1. 1Click the AI assistant icon (sparkle/robot icon) in the bottom-right corner of any dashboard page.
  2. 2The chat panel slides open. Type your question and press Enter or click Send.
  3. 3The assistant reads your KB and live data to compose an answer, usually in a few seconds.
  4. 4Continue the conversation — follow-up questions are understood in context.

What the AI Assistant Can Do

The assistant is most useful for:

  • Answering 'how do I…' questions using the Fixmo KB (e.g. 'How do I create a partial refund?').
  • Looking up repair details (e.g. 'What is the current status of repair #1042?').
  • Summarising recent activity (e.g. 'Show me repairs marked Ready today').
  • Explaining errors or status messages you encounter in the app.
  • Guiding you through multi-step workflows like adding a supplier or configuring email notifications.

Ending and Clearing a Chat

Your conversation is persisted across page navigations so you can continue where you left off.

  • To end a session, click the 'End Chat' button inside the chat panel. This clears the conversation on your end.
  • When you log out, the persisted conversation is automatically dropped for privacy.
  • Starting a new conversation begins with a fresh context — the AI does not remember previous chat sessions.

What Data Can the AI See?

The assistant has read-only access to the following data within your shop:

  • Repair jobs — status, timeline, activity log, technician, customer, parts, services.
  • Customer profiles — name, phone, email, repair history.
  • Fixmo Knowledge Base — all KB articles are indexed and searchable by the AI.

The AI cannot see payment card details, passwords, or any data belonging to other shops. All queries are scoped strictly to your shopId.

Tokens: How Billing Works

The AI assistant uses a token-based system. Tokens are consumed each time a message is sent and a response is generated (both input text and the AI's output count toward your balance).

  • Every new shop receives 50,000 free tokens — enough for hundreds of typical conversations.
  • Your current balance is shown inside the AI chat panel.
  • When the balance reaches zero, new messages are paused until you purchase more.

What AI model does Fixmo use?+
Fixmo's AI assistant is powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash — a fast, capable model designed for multi-turn conversations and structured data retrieval.
What data can the AI see?+
The AI can see your KB articles (the Fixmo Help Center content, indexed per shop) and live repair data including repair status, timeline, technician assigned, customer details, and parts used. It cannot see payment card details, passwords, or other shops' data.
Is my data shared with other shops?+
No. Your shop's data is strictly isolated. The AI only has access to your shop's information — it cannot read another shop's repairs, customers, or inventory.
What happens when I run out of tokens?+
New messages will not be sent until you purchase a token package. Your conversation history is preserved — nothing is lost. Purchase from Settings → AI Assistant → Buy Credits.
Can all roles use the AI assistant?+
Yes. All authenticated users on your shop (Admin, Manager, Technician, Cashier) can open the AI chat. Token consumption is counted at the shop level, not per user.
