Editing Items & Restocking
Finding an Item to Edit
Before editing, you need to locate the item in your inventory list. Fixmo provides search and filters to help you find items quickly.
- 1Open the Inventory section from the sidebar.
- 2Use the search bar to search by name, SKU, barcode, or category.
- 3Apply filters (Category, Sub Category, Supplier, Usage Type) to narrow results.
- 4Click on any row to expand it and see item details, or use the three-dot action menu.
Editing Item Details
The edit page contains the same fields as the add item form — name, pricing, category, stock settings, and advanced fields. Admin and Manager roles can edit items. For variable products, the edit page also displays all child variations with their independent fields.
- 1Click the three-dot action menu on the item row.
- 2Select Edit to open the item's edit page.
- 3Update any fields — name, SKU, barcode, pricing, category, usage type, tax settings, warranty period, description, dimensions, or weight.
- 4For variable products, the Variants section shows all child variations. Each variation can be edited independently — update its cost price, sell price, wholesale price, stock, serial tracking, or supplier as needed.
- 5Upload or replace the product photo in the Product Image section.
- 6Click Save to apply your changes.
Editing an item does not affect existing repairs or sales that already used this item. Changes apply going forward only.
Restocking an Item
When new stock arrives, use the restock dialog to add quantities to a specific branch. The Restock option only appears for items with Track Stock enabled.
- 1Click the three-dot action menu on the item row and select Restock.
- 2Enter the Quantity to Add (minimum 1).
- 3If the item has serial number tracking, enter serial numbers in the text area — one per line. A progress counter shows how many you have entered vs. the required quantity.
- 4Select the target Branch from the dropdown.
- 5Click Add Stock to confirm. The stock level updates immediately.
Non-admin users can only restock their own branch. Admins and Managers can restock any branch.
Managing Serial Numbers
For items with serial number tracking enabled, the edit page includes a dedicated Serial Numbers tab. This gives you a complete view of every serial unit and its current status.
- 1Open the item's edit page.
- 2Click the Serial Numbers tab (visible only for items with serial tracking).
- 3Browse the list of serials with their current status, branch, and linked documents.
- 4Use the search field to find a specific serial number.
- 5Click on a serial to update its status or add notes.
Deleting an Item
Items can be deleted from the action menu, but Fixmo enforces data integrity rules to protect your repair and sales history.
- 1Click the three-dot action menu on the item row.
- 2Select Delete.
- 3Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.
If the item has been used in any repair, deletion is blocked. You will see the message: 'This item has been used in repairs and cannot be deleted.' This protection ensures your repair records remain accurate.
