Searching Your Inventory

The search bar at the top of the inventory page lets you find items quickly by name, SKU, barcode, or category name. Search is debounced — results start updating after a short delay as you type.

  1. 1Click the search bar on the inventory page.
  2. 2Type at least 2 characters of the item name, SKU, barcode, or category name.
  3. 3Results update automatically as you type.
  4. 4Click any result row to expand it and see full item details.

Filtering by Category, Supplier & Usage Type

Filters narrow down the inventory list to show only items matching your criteria. All filters work together — combine them for precise results.

  1. 1Use the Category dropdown to select a parent category. If it has children, a Sub Category dropdown appears.
  2. 2Use the Supplier dropdown (visible when suppliers exist) to filter by supplier.
  3. 3Click the Usage Type tabs — All, Products, or Repair Parts — to filter by how items are used.
  4. 4All filters combine with the search bar. For example, search for 'screen' with Category set to 'iPhone Parts' to find only iPhone screens.

Sorting Results

Change the order of your inventory list using the sort dropdown to find items by different criteria.

  • Recently Added — the default sort, newest items first.
  • Name: A–Z — alphabetical order by item name.
  • Price: Low to High — ascending by sell price.
  • Price: High to Low — descending by sell price.

Viewing Item Details

Click any row in the inventory list to expand it and view detailed information without leaving the page.

  1. 1Click on an item row to expand it.
  2. 2The expanded section shows additional details including stock per branch, pricing, category, and more.
  3. 3Click the row again to collapse it.
  4. 4Use the three-dot action menu on the right for actions like Edit, Restock, and Delete.

Opening the Bulk Update Panel

The Bulk Update panel lets you apply changes to many items at once. It is available to Admin and Manager roles and appears between the filter bar and the inventory table.

  1. 1Click the 'Bulk Update' bar to expand the panel.
  2. 2Choose your scope: 'All filtered items' applies to everything matching your current search and filters, while 'Selected items' applies only to items you have ticked.
  3. 3The panel displays the count of affected items for your chosen scope.
Tip

Use the page filters (Category, Supplier, Usage Type, Search) to define your target set, then select 'All filtered items' for the most efficient workflow.

Selecting Individual Items for Bulk Update

When you choose 'Selected items' as your scope, checkboxes appear in the inventory table. Tick the specific items you want to update.

  1. 1In the Bulk Update panel, click 'Selected items' to enter selection mode.
  2. 2Checkboxes appear in the leftmost column of the inventory table.
  3. 3Tick the checkbox next to each item you want to include.
  4. 4Use the checkbox in the table header to select or deselect all visible items.
  5. 5The count of selected items updates in real time in the panel.

Choosing Fields to Update

The Bulk Update panel offers six toggleable fields. Enable only the fields you want to change — disabled fields are left unchanged on all affected items.

  • Category — reassign items to a different category or set them as Uncategorized.
  • Cost Price — set to a specific value, increase by a percentage, or decrease by a percentage.
  • Sell Price — same options as Cost Price: set, increase %, or decrease %.
  • Tax Rate — set a new tax rate percentage for all matched items.
  • Tax Inclusive — toggle whether prices include tax.
  • Usage Type — change items to Repair Part, Product, or Both.
Note

You can enable multiple fields in a single update. For example, increase Sell Price by 10% and change the Tax Rate to 15% in one operation.

Applying the Bulk Update

Once you have set your scope and enabled the fields you want to change, review and confirm the operation.

  1. 1Verify the affected item count shown at the bottom of the panel.
  2. 2Click the 'Apply to X items' button.
  3. 3A confirmation dialog appears showing the exact number of items that will be updated and a reminder that this action cannot be undone.
  4. 4Click 'Apply Changes' to proceed, or Cancel to go back.
  5. 5A success notification shows the number of items updated. The inventory list refreshes automatically.
Warning

Bulk updates cannot be undone. Always double-check your filters and selected fields before confirming. Start with a small test batch if you are unsure.
