What a Web Price Does

A web price is the price your website shows and charges for an item. It can be lower than the sell price, higher, or the same. The shop keeps charging the sell price, unless you let staff match the web price for a customer who saw it online.

Note

The Web price card appears only for shops on Pro or Business with Website Sync switched on and connected.

Setting a Web Price

You set it on the item, next to the shop's own pricing.

  1. Open the item's Edit page. For a simple product you can also set it on the Add Item form.
  2. Find the Web price card, below Sale / Promotion.
  3. Enter the web price, or leave it empty to use the sell price.
  4. Save. The card shows the web profit and margin as you type.

Running a Web Sale

A web sale works like a shop Sale / Promotion, on the website only and against the web price. Choose a fixed web sale price or a discount % from 1 to 99, and how long it runs. It must run for at least 1 hour, and it ends on its own.

Warning

A web sale needs a web price. Clearing the web price also ends the web sale.

Which Price the Website Uses

While an item has a web price, the website uses it and ignores the shop Sale / Promotion. Without one, nothing changes from before.

  • No web price: the sell price, and the shop sale while it runs.
  • A web price and no web sale running: the web price.
  • A web price with a web sale running: the web sale price, with the web price struck through.

Variable Products

Each variant has its own web price. Set it in the variants list on the product's Edit page, or in the variant rows when you add the product. A web sale set on the product applies to every variant, worked out from each variant's own web price, so every variant needs a web price first.

Changing Many Items at Once

In Inventory, Bulk Update has a Web Price row. You can set one web price, take a percentage or an amount off each item's sell price, or clear the web price. Variable products change variant by variant. An inventory CSV import can also carry a Web Price column.

Matching the Web Price in the Shop

A customer may see your web price online and ask for it in the shop. Switch on Show web prices at the counter in Settings → POS. A line for an item with a web price then shows it, and the web sale price while a web sale runs. Staff tap one to bill the line at that price. The bill marks the line Web price, so you can tell later that the customer came from your website.

Note

It works on the POS, invoices, quotations and repair parts. Only items your website lists show a web price. It is off to start with.

Checking Web Orders

Fixmo checks each web order line against the price the website should have charged at that moment. A line that differs is listed in Reports → Overrides as a Web order. The order itself is kept as it is.

Frequently asked questions

The sell price, and the shop's Sale / Promotion while it runs. That is how Website Sync worked before web prices existed.
