Resetting

The Reset to default button is at the bottom of the screen, next to Save. What it resets depends on which tab you are on.

  1. Go to Settings, then Roles & Permissions.
  2. Pick the role, or switch to People and pick the person.
  3. Press Reset to default at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Read the confirmation, which tells you what is about to be cleared.
  5. Confirm.

What each reset clears

The two resets do different things, and neither touches the other.

  • On the Roles tab: clears every change this shop has made to that role, putting it back to Fixmo's standard settings. It affects everyone with that role.
  • On the People tab: clears that one person's exceptions, putting them back on whatever their role currently allows. It does not reset the role itself.

Note

If you have customised a role and then reset a person, that person goes back to your customised role, not to Fixmo's original settings.

A reset is recorded too

Resets appear in the change log like any other change, showing who did it, when, from which address, and every setting that was cleared — one line each, with the value it held beforehand. That includes settings whose value happened to match the role default anyway: the setting existing at all is worth a record, so clearing it leaves one. You can filter a reset by section in the log exactly like any other change.

There is no undo

A reset cannot be reversed with a button. The change log records exactly what was cleared and what each value was beforehand, so it can be put back by hand, but Fixmo will not do it for you. If you are unsure, read the confirmation carefully before pressing it.

Warning

Resetting a role affects every person with that role, not just the one you had in mind.
