Dashboard vs Reports

The Dashboard and Reports pages serve different purposes. The Dashboard is your operational command center — it shows what is happening right now in your shop. The Reports page is your business intelligence tool — it shows how your shop performed over the past month with revenue breakdowns and comparisons. Both pages are accessible from the sidebar, but they show different data with different goals.

Repair Status Overview

The top of the Dashboard displays five clickable status cards that give you an instant picture of where your repairs stand. Each card shows the count of repairs in that status and the percentage of total active repairs it represents.

  • New — repairs that have been received but not yet started (RECEIVED status)
  • In Progress — repairs currently being worked on (DIAGNOSING, WAITING_PARTS, REPAIRING statuses)
  • Testing — repairs in the quality testing phase (TESTING status)
  • Ready — repairs completed and ready for customer pickup (READY status)
  • Delivered — repairs that have been returned to the customer (DELIVERED status)
Tip

Click any status card to navigate directly to the Repairs page filtered by that status. This is the fastest way to see all repairs in a specific stage.

Monthly Revenue Cards

Below the repair status cards, three revenue cards display financial performance for the current month. Each card includes a 12-month sparkline chart that shows the revenue trend over the past year. These cards are visible to Admin, Manager, and Cashier roles only.

  • Total Revenue — combined revenue from repairs and sales for the current month, with a 12-month sparkline showing the overall trend
  • Repair Revenue — revenue from completed repairs only, with its own 12-month sparkline
  • Sales Revenue — revenue from point-of-sale transactions only, with its own 12-month sparkline

Active Repairs

The Active Repairs section displays the 8 most recent in-progress repairs as compact cards. Each card shows the repair code, item name, customer name, current status badge, and assigned technician. Click any card to open the full repair detail page. This section is visible to all roles including Technicians, who see only their own assigned repairs.

The right sidebar of the Dashboard contains four information panels that provide contextual data about your shop's activity and capacity.

  • Monthly Usage — progress bars showing repairs created and sales recorded this month against your plan's monthly limits. Helps you monitor plan capacity at a glance.
  • Today's Sales — the number of sales completed today and the total revenue generated. Resets at midnight each day.
  • All Time Stats — cumulative totals for repairs, sales, and customers since your shop was created. Provides a long-term perspective.
  • Recent Customers — the most recently added customers with their name and creation date. Click any customer to open their detail page.

What Each Role Sees on the Dashboard

The Dashboard adapts its content based on your role to show only the information relevant to your responsibilities.

  • Admin — full Dashboard access: repair status cards, monthly revenue cards with sparklines, active repairs, and all sidebar panels across all branches
  • Manager — full Dashboard access scoped to their assigned branch: repair status cards, monthly revenue cards, active repairs, and sidebar panels for their branch
  • Cashier — repair status cards, monthly revenue cards, active repairs, and sidebar panels. Same visibility as Manager but for their branch.
  • Technician — repair status cards and active repairs assigned to them only. Monthly Revenue cards and financial sidebar data are hidden.
