Services Are Now in Inventory

Services in Fixmo are managed under Inventory → Services. A service is an inventory item of type 'Service' — it has a name, sale price, service type (category), and usage setting. Unlike physical products, services have no cost price, no stock tracking, no barcode, and no warranty. Only Admins and Managers can create or edit services.

Note

All services previously created in Settings > Services have been automatically migrated to Inventory → Services. Nothing was lost.

Service Types (Categories)

Service types organize your services into groups (e.g., 'Hardware Repairs', 'Software Services', 'Diagnostics'). You can create new service types inline when adding a service.

  • Service types appear as categories in the repair service picker
  • A service can have one service type, or none (uncategorized)
  • Rename or delete service types from the inventory edit page
  1. 1Go to Inventory and click the Services toggle in the top-right.
  2. 2Click 'Add Service'.
  3. 3In the Service Type field, type a new type name next to the selector and click the + button to create it inline.

How to Add a Service

Services are added through the Inventory → Add Item flow with 'Service' selected as the product type.

  3. 3Select or create a Service Type.
  4. 4Enter the Sale Price.
  5. 5Set the Usage Type: Repair Service Only, POS Service Only, or Both (Repair & POS).
  6. 6Optionally add a description and photo.
  7. 7Click 'Save Item'.
Tip

When a service is added to a repair, sale, invoice, or quotation, its current sale price auto-fills. You can override the price on any individual record without changing the master price.

Service Usage Types

The Usage Type controls where a service appears in Fixmo.

  • Repair Service Only — appears only in the repair service picker when adding services to a repair
  • POS Service Only — appears only in the POS product grid for walk-in sales
  • Both (Repair & POS) — appears in both the repair service picker and the POS grid
  • All service types appear in the invoice and quotation item picker under the 'Services' tab

Editing and Deleting Services

Edit a service by clicking its row in Inventory → Services. Delete it from the edit page (the delete button is blocked if the service has been used in any repair, sale, or document).

  3. 3Update the name, price, service type, or usage type and click 'Save Changes'.
  4. 4To delete: on the edit page, click the delete button. Fixmo blocks deletion if the service has been used.
Warning

Changing a service's sale price does NOT retroactively update existing repairs, sales, or invoices — those records store a historical snapshot of the price at the time they were created.

What are service types in Fixmo?+

How do I add a new service in Fixmo?+

Yes. When adding a service, set the Usage Type to 'Both (Repair & POS)'. Services with usage type 'Repair Service Only' appear only in repair service pickers. Services with 'POS Service Only' appear only in the POS product grid.
